Just because I'm in love with the people
Don't make me a fool
Staying my way, hide my safe, reading people
But I won't follow their rules

Rich getting richer, the poor getting poorer
The war declared on us all
I tried and tried but they couldn't understand it
And so I tried it some more

Senseless rules took for fools
So the deaf don't look blind
In denial to confuse
From being used and abused
Some see, some see what you're on
Some will never see, or ever know

Just because I belong with the people
Please don't take me for a fool
I won't comply with the lying in people
I just won't follow their rules
