I watch from my spot on the wall
I've learned to prepare for a fall
They're all around, to fate we're bound

Now and again, I break free

I'm still a case, don't replace
I'm not how I used to be

When I was younger I'd find a remedy and hide for days
I'd be lost in a melody, the world would just melt away
Now I wander around like I'm haunted
Is this really what you wanted to see?

So much I need to conceal
So much has now been revealed
Conformity, socially
I guess that's part of the deal

Is it just the way I came off?
Or too strong a pill makes you soft?
Summer days and Beaujolais
When I get this straight jacket off
