Am I imprisoned on this island?
I have tried, I've tried to swim away
Out to the buoy
Ebony rose
But the current is too strong
I now drift daydreaming
To when we were happy here on this beach
We played with our children
And they were happy too

Tipping goes the cormorant
I think she knows I'm a pathetic intruder
Into the abyss
And I have watched her too
From the stony beach
That was black in the last year
Before the storm
Elsewhere sometimes
I can see beyond the lighthouse

The uncharted cruise ship
Anchored way off
As though the last party on earth
Continues to vast horizons
Container ships
Full of glass vials
