Sitting by my window sill
Cigarette hanging out of my mouth
Smoke just disappears
I'm in so much pain right now
If medicine could fix a hurting heart
Or stop someone from falling apart
That would be nice because I'm dying
Dying for a new start

You don't want me anymore
How my poor heart aches
I don't know what love is for
When it always ends in heartbreak
But I'll use my pain to write poetry
Lullabies to help me fall asleep
'Cause I haven't been sleeping
Since you're no longer sleeping next to me

Swimming along through life like waves
Waves that are 10 feet tall
The funny thing is I don't know how to swim
They come over me as I fall
After the struggle I end up on the shore
Standing there asking myself
What it's all for
Then I realize I'm still standing
After the storm
