Movin' Out (Anthony's Song)

Movin' Out (Anthony's Song)

A very short back story: my parents had this thing called "chore day"
Every Saturday you clean the house, and I was the youngest of five siblings so I would get shit detail. I would clean the toilet most of the time—that's okay, that's alright, look at me now, bro! Ha-ha, I still clean his toilet, it's alright. Uh, anyways, my parents, they would make us clean the house, but the good thing, the saving grace, was that they would play records all the time. They'd play Journey, Phil Collins, oh my god, it was just ridiculous. But there was one guy, one guy who caught my ear at a very young age. His name was Billy Joel. Now, this man, this man is a legend, a god among men. We're gonna do this song. One, two, three, four!

Ooh, oh oh, ooh
Anthony works in the grocery store
Saving his pennies for someday
Mama Leone left a note on the door
She said "Sonny, move out to the country"
But working too hard can give you
A heart attack
You oughta know by now
Who needs a house out in Hackensack
Is that all you get for your money

And it seems such a waste of time
Well that's what it's all about
Mama, if that's moving up then I'm moving out
I'm moving out
Ooh, oh oh, ooh

Sergeant O'Leary is walking the beat
At night he becomes a bartender
He works at Mr. Cacciatore's down on Sullivan Street
Across from the medical center
Oh and he's trading in his Chevy for a Cadillac
You oughta know by now
And if he can't drive with a broken back
At least he can polish the fenders

And if that's what you had in mind
If that's what it's all about
Mama, if that's moving up then I'm moving out
Oh, moving out
Ooh, oh oh, ooh

You should never argue with a crazy mind
You oughta know by now
You can pay Uncle Sam with the overtime
Is that all you get for your money

And it seems such a waste of time
Yeah, but that's what it's all about
Mama, if that's moving up then I'm moving out
Oh, moving out, ha-ha
Ooh, oh oh, ooh

I'm moving out
I am
I'm moving out
Oh yeah
Oh
