I remember when I first spoke with you
Walking down Jones with your little dog Duey
We were kind to each other and complimentary
I hoped I'd see you again before too long
And then one day again, I saw you with your dog
And a half hour later, we were in your apartment making love
And I knew that day, my life had just begun
And fifteen years later, I still love you a ton

Being with you has not been a walk in the park
You're around for a week and then you gotta depart
And half the time you come back, you're disheveled with the flu
But somehow, I still have unconditional love for you
And now of late, and you're home all the time

You overcome obstacles that many can't
You're one-of-a-kind, and you take good care of my dog and my cat

When you're away, I send you the pictures

We've been on many adventures through the years

We love the same movies and many other things
Spending winter in Tahoe and spring in New Orleans
We spend time in bed, and stay in it
And each of us are happy with just a few good friends

The last few weeks in Southern California
I had fun watching you catch sea bass and sandsharks
And my family loves your humor and the way you treat me
My dad laughed when you told him you got the fish right there and make your own sushimi

Your dad laughed and said he hoped I didn't swallow parasites
I said, "I'm sitting here, ain't I? I think I'll be alright"
Then your mom laughed when I said, "If bears can eat raw fish, then so can I"
They both laughed and said, "Animals are different, human beings can die"
