I remember Momma waking us up and cooking us breakfast
And Daddy patting us on the back as he walked us to them old corn roads

And we kicked up dust

Now we didn't have a whole lot but wasn't hurting for nothing
Some good ground that Daddy found and the good Lord up above
A creek bottom full of firewood that was well worth cutting
And some old dogs that would load up my '72 pick-up truck

And run a rabid hog or whitetail buck
