I had my pistol a dozen battles strong
I loved it like the day was long
I was a poem written in blood in the street
You were a gentle frontal rain from the east
You had a heart a dozen stories tall you
You had wings

I saw a savior
I saw an angel
I saw bronze and gold and yellow hues
I was lost in a world that was forgotten, that was used
I never wanted fame
I never wanted love
I never wanted happiness
I never wanted anything good or bad if I ain't have you
You seen me true

You saw the bruises, the blacks and the blues, the lies and the scars
All my mistakes, all the pain, all the rage in my head and my heart (from what I had done)
You saw promise
You saw potential
You saw my future
You saw what I could become if I had you when we were one
