Nothing Much Is Happening Today

Nothing much is happening today
Nothing really very much my friends
All except the mountains and the flowers and the grass
And the people in the public eye that live and die too fast
Lovers come and lovers go as morning smiles at last
But nothing much is happening today
Nothing much has happened in the past
Nothing that I know will last

Snow and rain and sleet have won
And made my door fall down
Maybe I should fix it but I'd rather go to town
Hey what if the snow should stop and let the sun come Round
And nothing much is happening today

Living is not really quite the same as I expected it to be
What a crying shame because
I thought that love would be a wonderful place to be

Take me hand and see if we can fly
Nothing bad can happen in the sky
All except the singing of an enigmatic tune
Or maybe bagpipes playing to a crocodile at noon
Everything begins and then it's over all too soon
The people who will smile at you begin to frown at noon
And nothing much is happening today
