He sits affixed in front of an old grandfather clock, turning and tweaking the nobs on a device he devised to communicate with them. It took several years to perfect it, but his meticulous attention to detail has brought him this far into his quest and the beyond. A faint signal is received as the hands on the weathered old clock come to a halt. Could this be what he has been waiting for? Actual contact from the other side? From the dead? Distant screams and distorted moans are projected from the devices as the clock's hands begin to evolve again. But this time, they swing backwards, counterclockwise, as if the bell hits the anti-gravitational pull from the realm of the dark. It's a success, and now it's stories and information we will acquire from this experiment will surely drive him out of his mind.
