The worst part is I know these memories will fade
I never thought I had to picture life without you in it
Picture me crying at your house when I'm at family dinner
I felt the pain and grief, but still sit back and grit my teeth
Asking why but I know that these questions never bring relief
I'm just a kid; I never thought I'd lose my closest friend
I'm hoping that you know that I'll always keep you inside my head
And when we meet again I'll ask you if I made you proud
But for now I'll just look for your face inside the crowd
