Then a bird taught me to sing
And I met the Lotus King
And my residence was through
In the Land of Sanpaku

I chewed the root until my brain was fried
I can't remember all the highs I tried
I always crashed no matter where I flew
Sinking in the quicksand of Sanpaku

Then a brown-eyed woman took me by the hand
She said: "Mery me, you've got to understand
This poison life will be the death of you"
Then she led me from the jungles of Sanpaku
