It went well but it was not worth the wait
I could not tell 'cause I got there a little bit too late

The last time we were together was on Zoom
It was awk and that was obvious to me
Small talk that we were forcing awkwardly
So I just let it play out and unfold
I'm not sure what you have heard about and don't know what you've been told

Yeah, it went as well as as one might well expect
With all things being equal some things were left unchecked
And sure it cut me deep down to the bone

There's way more to this than what meets the eye

You don't have to follow suit or fall in line
I'll be your friend no matter what and you'll always be mine
