Swing back and forth
It's our distance that kept me grounded
But now you're back up north
And I just can't seem to wrap my head around this growth
Cuz I'm busy searching for the excuses
To not lose it and fill myself up with things that I just find useless

I tried my best
To do what's right
But I must confess
That maybe I was only ever dead wrong
Thinking bout myself it's why I'm moving really headstrong
Jumping out of bounds just to try and get a move on
Push it at all away too busy living in the background
And now I'm thinking back that maybe I was dead wrong

I'll take my time (take my time)
To bury myself underneath my lies
I'm digging up the roots that wouldn't show up before
I tried to read between the lines

Running out of patients out of time

I tried my best
To do what's right
