Where the hell has the rest of you gone?
A night on the rocks
A swan from the highest one
Felt the water flood into our lungs

We went down down down
Until we could swim no farther
We shattered one illusion
And something much larger

A million miles and so many nights ago
We killed the lights I helped you chain the doors
Somehow I stumbled my way back to the road
A million miles back are you still home?

I miss you a lot
I'm sketching your face now
Out here with chalk
Hoping to make you a child
But my lack of recall is not helping at all
I can't make the turn when I get to your smile

And so I press these pastels
Down into the pavement
Color in the cracks in your complexion
No that's not what's been missing

A million miles and so many nights ago
