I've been staring at the ceiling trying to catch my breath
Can't keep my mind from racing, I can't close my eyes and pretend
Second thoughts are the one thing I know, they never go away
I guess they'll always have their place

I used to believe that there was no escape
There's gonna be pain, it's something you have to take
And I'm starting to find that there's some cracks in these walls
And after the fall

If you try to look too deep you might not see it all
There are no big deals; then again, this ain't exactly small
Every time you take a step back you get a different view
And you can see enough if your aim is true
