This Christmas

This Christmas...

Every winter
I watch it come and go
I see the splendor
But leave it covered in snow
I guess somehow I just allowed
To let my heart grow cold
One half faded, one half jaded
But in this burn out I hope

Of all the stars in this December sky
I need the one that
Led them to You back then
Point it out cause, Lord, I'm done with
All these written wishes
When all I want is forgiveness
Jesus be the star
That leads me back to You this Christmas

Break the surface

A Sundays service
With staged up snow and hay
I need the Spirit to remind me
Why You even came
And to thank You that You're still here
When we all turned You away
