50 YEARS OF HIP HOP FREESTYLE

50 YEARS OF HIP HOP FREESTYLE

It all started in the 70's from DJ Uroc
To DJ Kool Kerc
To DJ Pleaser Lovebug Starski coming up with them two words hip hop
Them turntables really turnt the tables
From Africans enslaved to Afrika Bambata
These are some of the great grandfathers
Grandmaster Flash
I'm just shining the light
Rappers Delight' had the world see hip hop in a whole different light

The 80's gave us Run DMC and they ran so we could Walk This Way'
Runs brother ran DEF JAM
And Def Jam still run the game
Salt & Pepper gave us the flavour them ladies had taste
Eric B & Rakim, Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince Kings.Queen Latifah reigned
Public Enemy showed the public who the real enemy was
And in their own way so did NWA

Doctor Dre went solo in the 90's & he killed it with DeathRow Records
Between him, Snoop Dogg & Tupac, Suge Knight sold over 100 million records
When it comes to breaking records MC Hammer nailed it
Biggie made ready to die & when he did we felt it
But Diddy couldn't stop wouldn't stop
And the Miseducation of Lauryn Hill taught us so much

The 2000's saw 3000 & Big Boy become the big boys
Jay Z & Nas we're the best but now they had hits boy
So did Missy Elliot that woman didn't miss boy
Eminem, 50 Cent, Wayne, Ye, Pharrell for real I ain't ever seen this many legends on a list boy
And in the late 2000's the rapper that was talking the hardest was Giggsboy

In the 2010's Drake became a global star
So did J.Cole & the soulful Kendrick Lamar
From TDE who some say is TBE
The UK's come a mighty long way since Sway won a BET
BBK been all over the TV screens
We could make a movie out all the scenes we've seen

Wiley wiling
Kano Kane it
And 32 show us that we're 32 make it
Swiss Cry had tears running down our faces
All these greats made me wanna be the greatest
