It Ain't Easy

It's not that easy being clean
Having to spend each day just watching falling leaves
When I think it could be nicer
Being high or drunk or stoned
Or something colorful like that

It's not that easy being clean
It seems you blend in
With so many ordinary things
And people pass you over
'Cause you're not standing out
Like flashy sparkles in water
Or stars in the sky

But clean's what I'm supposed to be
And clean can be cool and friendly like
And clean can be big like the ocean
Or important like a mountain
Or tall as a tree

If clean is all there is to be
It could make you wonder
But why, wonder why, wonder, why wonder
I will be clean and it will be fine
It's beautiful and I think it's what I want to be
