I was walking past your window late last night
There were lights on but your shades were pulled down tight
I decided to come in and spend some time
Then I looked and something made me change my mind

There were shadows, covered shadows on the wall
Holding one another, clinging to each other
And I felt my heart fall
I just stood there not believing what I saw
Right outside your window
Watching the shadows on the wall

Like a drowning man who sees his past go by
I was seeing all my future slowly die
I believed you and I loved you all the time
But the shadows said you weren't really mine
