Audrey was a girl that sat in my classroom
She never said a word she just sat there so furtively
I never noticed her until I heard the radio
Telling about the way she took her life
Today it's all upon the covers of the papers
About her folks at home I guess her daddy is a drinker
Her mummy left her when she was just a tiny child
Tell me Audrey was that the first time you felt abandonment

Come to think about it there are some things
I can recall about her arms they had blue spots on them
I remember then thinking these thoughts to myself
