When I was a young man,
There was a pretty young girl
That taught me a game of love.

Meant something special.
Something special like:
"L" means that lately, I been thinking we should be alone.
"O" means that only you can understand where I'm coming from.
"V" is for Valentine, it means that you've won my heart (yes it does, now).
"E" is for everlasting love, that no strong wind can pull apart.
Varee, woman don't you know that your name means love to me.

And then you left, and the words changed:
"L" is for the loneliness since you walked out of my life.
"O" means that obviously love has just passed me by.
"V" is for the vicious words that tore our lives apart.
"E" is evidently our love was a lie from the start.
