I paid a visit to a country pub, it was a winter Saturday night
When I walked in the lights were dim but the bar was packed out tight
Up on the stage in the spotlight, singing those country tunes
I caught his eye, I realized he was someone that I once knew
He took a break, I said: "G'day mate
I haven't seen you for a while
I thought you gave up years ago when heavy metal came in style."
He just smiled and winked at me
He said: "My second life's begun
I'm out of retirement, I'm working on the country run."
