I write these lyrics in spirit of what I know to be true
Cuz what I need most is a clear point of view
And what I seek most isn't straight or obtuse
It's a middle ground somewhere in the center of the room
A lot of days start with a tendency for gloom
But I find ways to walk toward the light by noon
So, when night falls and the clock strikes zero
I've found peace of mind in this war with my ego

I used to be a little kid
Then I woke up in this body

Some days it hurts to grow
Some days it hurts to know
That some things happen that I can't control
So, I hold a place in my heart for the ones that I love
And keep a couple slots open for the ones to come
I've shied away from my intimacy but now I see
That it's me who I fear more than women I see
There's phases and stages of life in my lyrics
Yesterday, I bleached my hair just to lighten my spirits
