My Way Of Life

Standing on a road
Walking down a highway
Ain't going nowhere
But that's my way of life

Well, I ain't never had much ambition
But I always made my own way
By turning a couple of jobs in some ladies' backyard
I averaged about a dollar a day
I wake up early each morning
And before I started on my way
I get some cigarettes and a couple of cups of coffee
A sweeping the local city café

I never would take the chance to fool with romance
I guess I'm used to being alone
Nobody wants a drifter, so I'll keep moving on
