When I saw her standing in the crowd alone
I can't forget the night I met that quiet woman
Something about her sure did turn me on
But she gave me the silent treatment all night long

I started once or twice to strike up a conversation
I gave it my best shot but I struck out
She never said a word 'til I started leaving
And then she said
"Stick around boy and you'll find out
What this silent treatment is all about"

You see some things are better left unspoken
Some things are best said silently
And it was so beautiful what she said to me

Just goes to show that you can't go on first impressions
Quietly she showed me I was wrong
I really learned a lot, it was a revelation
The night that quiet woman took me home
And gave me that silent treatment all night long
