White Man's Blues

You might think being white would surely be the best
But it ain't always right when you're whiter than the rest
Well maybe there's a curse that yet I haven't guessed
Sometimes it's hard to tell if I've been cursed or I've been blessed

At least the black man has a brother
But for me there is no other

Well, I got an older brother who looks a bit like me
But he's covered with tattoos (not as touched as I can be)
Now they say we look like twins, on that I can agree
At least I know he understands how crazy it can be

But I refuse to get tattoos

Well, I'm not complaining, I'm really happy being me
I'm just explaining so that maybe you can see
