When it comes to making music I have always told the truth
My gratitude is strong from everything that I receive

The benevolence is genuine, I'll tell you something amazing
I'm proud of my family, my sister just had a baby
There was a time that we couldn't take care of ourselves
We lived in active addiction and everyday was hell
I remember when my mother had conniptions, alcoholic fits
Some call it oblivion, I'd like to call it bliss
Through ignorant senses, relentless, it was often I smiled
I couldn't handle it, was throwing in the towel
I used to be a vagabond, derelict and a bum
Nowadays I love my life and everyday I'm having fun
We laugh a lot as we're building these special bonds
There's people that have helped me on this journey, now they're gone
How many friends we gonna lose and bury in the process?
At Eric's funeral, was crying, carrying his coffin

I used to suffer from depression, overnight became a father
Now I'm smiling every time I see my daughter
And I've never been in love until the moment that I met her
She's the reason that I'm breathing, the reason I'm living better
And I finally found my purpose, I'm no longer feeling worthless
I tell you everything, I go much deeper than the surface
I'm gonna make a name for myself through recording music
And no one in my life will ever tell me I can't do it
I know what it's like to fall, have nothing when starting over
That agony that followed me solidified my closure
My alcohol consumption it was damaging my liver
I wanted to end my life but I just couldn't pull the trigger
I never believed that I would find freedom in writing poems

I lost my grandparents 19 days apart
