Spent my whole morning at the corner store
Just a-smoking and a-joking with the kid next door

Riding down the street in a big ol' Cadillac
Seems to me that yesterday is at least a mile back
Having such a good time, having so much fun
Just a-dancing and a-drinking, probably never get done
Then all at once I hear a ringing in my ears
Guess it must've been a dream 'cause I'm still right here

Come one day, I'll be leaving this old country town

Having fun and drinking some, everything's gonna work out fine
One day I'll come back again, if I get the time

Eating maple candy underneath the maple tree
Just a-sitting in the shade thinking what I wanna be

Kissing pretty girls and driving fancy cars
